MgO SIP Panels

Exceptionally high quality Magnesium SIP panels – the heart of your thermally efficient build

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) are the core of our advanced building system. The outer structure is Class A Grade Magnesium Oxide, which is highly water resistant, fireproof and extremely strong. The thermal core comprises Elastapor® H PUR foam insulation, developed with world market leaders BASF.

SPT Systems – The Market Leaders

SPT panels combine the excellent thermal performance of SPT’s MgO SIP panels with the Econex component’s ability to minimise thermal bridging and maximise thermal airtightness, which means that high levels of performance can be easily achieved using the SPT build system, with the risk of on-site build error, virtually eliminated.

The Total System

Years of development and research have resulted in the highest specification SIP’s panels available on the market today.

Manufacturing Excellence

Our MgO SIP panels are manufactured in our own factory, a highly controlled factory environment, working to ISO 9001 standards to produce one of the most advanced performance build systems available today.
Our management staff operate continuous improvement strategies, and a TQM model to ensure that we deliver to the very highest standards.

Tested and proven to the highest European Standards

The SPT Integrated Build System has been fully tested and certified to meet the most stringent of European fire, acoustic, thermal, structural and seismic standards and holds a full European Agrement Certificate

Super-fast, super-flexible component build

SPT MgO SIP panels are the perfect solution for rapidly constructing thermally efficient, airtight buildings. Our panels can be used for external and internal walls, roofs and intermediate floors, in virtually any design and application.

Our panels are very easy to erect on site and typically allow the building envelope to be constructed to wind and watertight state within days of delivery to site.

Outstanding thermal performance

SPT MgO SIP are available in a range of panel thickness and achieve u-values of up to 0.14 W/m2K or better. This performance allows their use in buildings which will easily achieve Passivhaus performance.

When combined with SPT’s unique Econex panel connection system, our buildings have very limited thermal bridging and exceptional levels of air-tightness.

Outperforms other SIP systems

All SIPS are not the same:

SPT produces a panel comprised of a Magnesium Oxide (MgO) skin and a Polyurethane (PUR) core. This offers multiple advantages over inferior panels using Oriented strand board (OSB)/wood chip board and Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) cores.

Fire Resistance – Fire resistance and non-combustibility– Our MgO panels have been tested to BS EN 13501 – 1:2007 standards and achieved a “Class A1” accreditation.

Thermal Efficiency – maximum U values of .14 means that SPT panels are the most thermally efficient SIP panels on the market, compare this to standard OSB/EPS panels with typical U values of .35 and above.

Rigidity – SPT MgO panels are fully flat, don’t warp or delaminate, expand or contract and offer a level of earthquake resistance that is unsurpassed.

Highly Water Resistant – The outer skin of SPT’s panels are fabricated with Magnesium Oxide, a mineral which naturally repels water and does not absorb or retain moisture. Unlike OSB panels, SPT’s panels do not need time to dry out after exposure to rain and SPT’s panels will not warp or delaminate.

As the above chart demonstrates, SIP panels outperform many other forms of building as illustrated above, with a comparison against the efficiency of timber frame structures. Our system arrives ready to be assembled, panels, joining components and fixings.

What are SPT Magnesium Oxide SIP’s?

SPT Magnesium Oxide SIPs are a premium building material that combine and simplify the structural and insulation elements of a building envelope to Passive House standards.

The panels outer structure is Magnesium Oxide, which is a strong, impact resistant mineral based construction product. The boards have a Class A fire rating, are highly water resistant, fire retardant and anti-microbial. The thermal core comprises of Elastapor ® H PUR foam insulation, developed by the world market leaders BASF with a density of up to 50kgm3, providing superb insulation values reducing energy costs by up to 60%.

SPT Magnesium Oxide SIP’s can be used for:

  • Traditional Housing
  • Contemporary Housing
  • Extensions
  • Garden Rooms
  • Commercial, Industrial and Distribution Facilities
  • Schools & Healthcare Facilities
  • Temperature Controlled Storage
  • Cellar Conversions
  • Holiday Homes and Lodges
  • High Humidity locations
  • Temporary structures
